
About us...
Warrington Tri Club was formed in April 2004 with 12 members and is already expanding to well over 65. We are based in South Warrington and are a varied bunch with members of all abilities from Ironman competitors to members yet to compete in a race.
Members are encouraged to enter local races, at novice, sprint and Olympic distances and beyond. Our ages range from under 20 to over 60.

World Biathle Champs 2006, Salford

Maria Barrett added the World Biathle Championship title to her European title (won earlier this year in Spain) by winning the ladies senior event by 20 seconds in a time of 13mins 32sec. Biathle (Run/Swim/Run) is competed over 1-mile run, 200m open water swim, 1 mile run.
The event took place at Salford barely 4 days after Maria had competed in the World Aquathlon Champs in Lausanne. Full results
World Aquathlon Elite Champs 2006, Lausanne
Maria has finished in 3rd place in the women’s Elite Race at the World Aquathlon Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland. This time the format 1000m open water swim and 5Km run, finishing in a time of 32mins 10sec. Full results
World Triathlon Champs 2006, Lausanne
Wendy Waters from WTC also produced a great performance taking part in the World Triathlon Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland finishing in the top 20, finishing 18th for her age group. For the 1500m open water swim, 40km cycle and 10km run. Full results

Blows away the opposition at North West Sprint Championships
Warrington Tri Club had a great weekend of racing taking top honours
at the BTA North West Sprint Championships the Boundary Breeze Sprint Triathlon
(750m open water swim, 23Km cycle and 5Km run). Club members taking 1st
overall Matt Cullen in a time of 1hr 4mins 23sec, and Nick Riding taking
3rd in a time of 1hr 5mins 21sec. Wendy Waters and Jonathan Britton also
adding to the days success by winning their age group categories. In total
Warrington had 18 club members competing on a day made harder by the strong
winds, this made for a choppy swim and not giving much rest on a tough bike
ride. The race was held at Boundary Water park near Holmes Chapel. Full

BTA National Elite Champs 2006
Well done to Maria Barrett finishing 12th in the BTA National Elite Cheld at the Royal Winsor Triathlon on the 11th June 2006. The event is due to be shown on British Eurosport on the 28th June at 4:30pm. Full results
WTC Win the Yarrow Valley Duathlon Series 2006
Mark Livingston has won the inaugural race series organised by Chorley
Tri and part of the BTA North West Series for 2006. Congratulations Mark!
His 4th place finish in the last race of the series on the 28th May was
enough to secure victory.Details can be found in the results section and
on the BTA North West region site.
WTC Win the Worst Kept Secret Womens 10k Liverpool 14th May
Maria Barrett WTC member has won the Women only Worst Kept Secrete race in a time of 35mins 45sec. Well done Maria!

Warrington Triathlete Qualifies for the World Triathlon Championships
Warrington Triathlon Club members are celebrating a successful weekend racing. Ruth Jones in particular is celebrating here qualification represent Great Britain in the World Triathlon age group championships in October in Honolulu. "I am really happy, and a bit surprised as it's my first year racing" Ruth said, " I'm really looking forward to representing Great Britain." Ruth took part in the National Age group championships in Ashford Kent last weekend. Her time of 2 hours 25 mins for the Olympic distance race (1500m swim, 40K bike and 10K run).
Warrington Tri make it into the papers. yes we get a mention in the Warrington Guardion this week (7th July 2005) for our members entering this Royles Deva Triathlon in Chester.

Tri hard - Warrington Guardian 7th July 2005 MATT Cullen was Warrington Tri Club's highest-placed finisher in the Royles Deva Triathlon in Chester on Sunday.
He finished eighth with an overall time of 2hrs 2mins 24secs for his 1,500m swim, 40k cycle and 10k run.Ruth Jones was the first woman home in 28th position and her time of 2hrs 38mins 35secs placed her 239th overall.
The Deva Divas Women's Triathlon was run as part of the main race and Warrington's Laura O'Callaghan impressed in her first outing. She came 11th in 1hr 30mins 11secs after 750m of swimming, 20k of cycling and 5k of running.
Warrington Tri club provided 18 finishers in total and the full results can be seen in our glance guide section.
